Rose by Gareth Lancaster

There's a quaint little woman called Rose,
Who has flowers that sprout from her nose.
What a wonderful sight,
This floral delight,
And she wins 'Best Display' in the shows.

Lousy Catcher's Mitt by Kenn Nesbitt

I bought myself a catcher's mitt
so I could catch a ball.
But all I ever caught were things
I didn't want at all.

I caught a fish, I caught a cab;
just how I can't explain.
I caught my brother telling lies,
I even caught a train.

I caught a show, I caught a crook,
I caught the evening news.
I caught my sister kissing boys,
and then I caught a snooze.

Come see my lousy catcher's mitt:
a wonder to behold!
I've never caught a single ball,
and now I've caught a cold!

Horror Movie Marathon by Kenn Nesbitt

My brother had the TV on
a horror movie marathon.
He watched 'The Blob,' 'The Thing,' 'The Fly,'
and then 'The Brain That Wouldn't Die.'

He watched 'The Bride of Frankenstein'
and 'Halloween: Parts Eight and Nine'.
Then 'Monsters From Beyond the Moon'
and 'Creature From the Black Lagoon.'

He stayed awake throughout the night.
His eyes are glazed, he's ghostly white.
He's looking like a nervous heap.
He's much too scared to go to sleep.

He's panic-stricken, pale as death.
He's shivering and short of breath.
So won't you tell me, anyone,
just how come he has all the fun?

Imagination by Bob Blackwell

Tastes the oceans salty brine.
Hears a dandelion tell the time.
Feels happy, sad, funny, kind.
Spots Alice’s fall to wonderland.

Observes a mouse run up a clock,
A small frog turns into a prince,
the genie of Aladdin’s lamp,
and the moon is made of cheese

Creates fantasies, makes us bold.
New works to enrich our world.
Saddens, gladdens and maddens,
Makes us poor, with many riches.

Overcomes life’s many difficulties,
Sees the funny side of things,
Hears angels, heavenly voices,
Makes come true our dreams.

Imagination gives verve to life,
Without it our mind is dead,
our life would be difficult, and
sounds of laughter seldom heard.

Our problems will remain unsolved,
Our difficulties, worries multiply,
All changes will make things worse,
Our life will become very dreary.
